Yarn Substitutions
This pattern works best with chunky or bulky yarn that has good structure and stitch definition. Wool, wool blends and other natural fibres are particularly well suited to the design, as they respond nicely to blocking and help highlight the scalloped texture.
Other fibres, including acrylic, cotton and recycled blends, can also be used if they provide a similar weight and drape.
A tension swatch is recommended when substituting yarn, as different fibres may affect the finished fit, texture and measurements.
Tension / Gauge
Approximately 3 Closed Scallop Stitch clusters × 6 rows = 10cm × 10cm (unblocked).
Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but variations will affect the finished measurements. Use the measurements provided as your main guide.
